Here’s some info on The Volantes:
THE VOLANTES are Michael Stewart (Vocals), Pete Lowrey (Guitar), David Liptrot (Bass) and Laurie Agnew (Drums). The current line-up has been together for just over a year and in this short space of time the band has achieved a lot.
Their music has been described as a soulful melodic style of rock and their live performance is powerful and memorable, which always excites their audiences.
They’ve played some impressive shows which include headlining venues such as Moho Live, Manchester Academy and The Witchwood. They’ve also played Tameside’s ‘Party in the Park’ and secured a regular spot at the Hard Rock Café.
The Volantes officially released their debut single ‘Woke Over Hung Up’ in October 2010. The track was a big success despite having no support from any label or management. “Woke Over Hung Up” was advertised on QTV, XFM, Rock Radio and the video was play-listed on Lava TV. The single received some great feedback including plugs from XFM’s Clint Boon and Rock Radio’s Moose.
The Volantes have been tipped for big things this year. They are constantly writing new material and have a UK tour planned for summer 2012 to coincide with the release of their debut album.
