As we all have hopes and fears for the new year, as we’re all back to the grind, running around like headless chickens, London based band Halls come back and tell us to take the time to sit down and relax with their new EP, Fragile.

Only a year after their first appearance on Bandcamp, Halls offers four new peaceful songs which lead you to that meditative state only a few bands are capable of.

Once again, my favourite song is not the main single. I Am Not Who You Want but Lifeblood has the combinatoin of piano, motor revving beats and Sam Howard’s voice which simply throws me in the same trance Radiohead can do sometimes.

When to listen: On a bright Sunday, with your lover, in your bathtub, when you wish time could stop for a second or an hour.

When to avoid: If you feel blue, down, hungover, at a party (unless it’s the last song!)

I don’t want to spoil your thoughts by analysing each song as every time I listen to this EP I just tell myself  “Shut up and listen…” Therefore, I’ll let you judge, but for me, it’s a 9/10.

Just relax, feel the softness in the air and let it happen.

PS: They will be playing at KRAAK Gallery, Manchester on March 9th so don’t miss them!
