Ghost Saddles is the solo work of Manchester musician Greg Counsell. Since 2004 he has fronted the indie-rock band The Maple State, releasing several critically acclaimed EPs and touring the UK, United States and Europe with bands like Motion City Soundtrack, Minus the Bear and +44. With their global cult following awaiting the release of a debut album the band suddenly went on a hiatus in 2009 and shortly afterwards Ghost Saddles appeared.
Back in Manchester to study, Greg set about recording bedroom demos with an acoustic guitar and synthesizers, the resulting whispery folk-pop shows a totally different side from his earlier song writing with The Maple State. Though yet to release any material, a few demos on the internet have gained comparisons to Bon Iver, Why? and Elliot Smith. He is currently working on an album and will be touring the UK in the autumn.
